About the Item
A most elegant true pair of French 19th century Neo-Classical st. Celadon Porcelain and Ormolu lamps. Each Celadon colored Porcelain lamp is raised on topie shaped feet below the square fluted Ormolu base with concave corners, swaging garlands and central cameos. Above is a smooth Porcelain socle accented by a mottled band below the wonderfully decorative urns mounted into lamps. Each lamp displays lovely foliate designs throughout with bands of Vitruvian scrolls wrapping around the bottom and top of each urn. Between each of the Vitruvian scrolls are stunning profiles of maidens on gilt backgrounds and surrounded by a circular border with palmettes designs. Wonderful Ormolu handles lead up each side and are joined by a wrap around Ormolu band below the neck with palmette designs and exceptional top cap showcasing wrap around laurel and fluted bands.
