About the Item

A rare large-scale Italian Empoli green glass table lamp, circa 1950s, distinguished by its sculptural form and highly unusual dual-illumination design. In addition to the primary light source, the lamp features a secondary illuminated lower chamber that functions as an integrated night light, casting a soft, atmospheric glow. The generously proportioned glass body is formed in richly translucent emerald-green glass with circular impressed motifs that create depth, movement, and luminous visual texture when illuminated. The lamp rests on a burnished brass base with a warm patina, lending a subtle romantic counterpoint to the lamp’s clean, architectural silhouette. Professionally rewired by Lamp Specialties in Los Angeles. The lamp is in good vintage condition, with professional stabilization to the brass base consistent with age and use, and presents beautifully. A collectible and increasingly difficult-to-source example of mid-century Italian lighting, ideal as a statement piece in both classic and contemporary interiors. This is a beautiful example of Empoli green glass with the thermal light in the base, rarely seen.

The Stiffel lamp is eggshell color and ovoid shape. The contrast of the burnished brass and the light tan porcelain is beautiful. The circumference of the lamp is decorated with two green stripes. But a standout feature of this American classic is the tiger eye base. Stunning. There is a light tan glazing on the porcelain and the palette is neutral and versatile in a number of design plans. This Stiffel lamp was manufactured in America between 1925 and 1950. The measurements are 33 inches tall, 8 inches wide and deep. Condition: The switch works perfectly. The lamps is very good to excellent condition without any scratches or cracks.. The lamp is in excellent working condition. It was acquired at an estate sale auction with several other wonderful Stiffel lamps including floor lamps, table lamps and a pair of buffet table lamps...
