About the Item
A sculptural vintage table lamp composed of a substantial fallow deer antler, dating to the mid-20th century, circa 1950s. The antler retains its natural form and warm, variegated patina, with pronounced texture and tonal variation ranging from deep brown to lighter bone hues along the tips and edges.
The antler is oriented horizontally, allowing its asymmetrical structure and branching points to function as both base and visual framework. Its organic silhouette gives the lamp a strong sculptural presence, whether illuminated or at rest, and reflects mid-century interest in natural materials and handcrafted decorative objects.
Suspended centrally is a frosted glass globe shade, which diffuses light evenly to create a soft, ambient glow. The globe is hung from a blackened metal chain, introducing a subtle industrial counterpoint to the organic material of the antler. The restrained palette—natural antler tones, matte black metal, and milky white glass—allows the materials themselves to define the character of the piece.
The lamp has been professionally restored and is in very good vintage condition, with light surface wear to the antler consistent with age and material. The glass globe and fittings are clean and well balanced, making the lamp fully functional as well as visually striking.
