About the Item
This lamp is a classic from the 1950's - 1960's. Made by Wildwood, a company noted for its quality lamps, the Japanese made porcelain base is in the chinoiserie tradition of an Imari temple jar. The lamp features traditional Japanese Imari-style decoration, characterized by a bold color palette of orange-red, cobalt blue, and gold accents on a white background.
The porcelain vase is mounted on a dark wood base.
It has a classic, flared ivory or beige fabric shade.
Wildwood Lamps began in 1900 as a furniture store in Rocky Mount, NC, founded by W.A. Bulluck, evolving under his grandson Bill Kincheloe, who started making custom lamps in the late 1950’s, transforming it into a renowned decorative lighting brand known for globally inspired, handcrafted designs using premium materials like Japanese porcelain and German crystal, bridging traditional and contemporary styles for over a century.

- Condition:Rewired: Lamp has been rewired and with a new socket. The new lamp cord is 116” long. Wear consistent with age and use. All brass parts have been thoroughly cleaned and polished. The wood base has been cleaned and freshened up. The lampshade that came with it has a few tears in the lining. Please see images. The polished brass harp and riser are quality replacements.
