A vibrant Neoclassical Revival decorative bowl in the 'Greek' pattern made by Copeland Spode in the late 19th century. Sir William Hamilton’s Collection of Etruscan, Greek and Roman antiquities, first published in 1766 by Pierre d’Hancarville, was a landmark publication in English design. Antique 19th Century Italian Maiolica Pot of the Renaissance Style
Located in Dallas, TX
Vivid colors, hand-painted in the Renaissance style, enhance this large maiolica pot from the 1800’s. Maiolica is tin-glazed pottery from Italy that has been decorated over a white background. This pot is considered an istoriato, which is to say that the pot has been decorated with figures, rather than strictly geometric patterns or floral designs. The maiolica does incorporate floral and foliate motifs, with white flowers that have yellow centers surrounded by blue rings. There are also yellow flowers that are depicted in various stages of nyctinasty (the closing of flowers during the night). The flora is all connected by a series of green and yellow curled leaves. Behind the vegetation is a dark blue background. There are two portraits inside large yellow cartouches that are painted in the middle of the pot. The first is a bearded man, dressed in a light brown tunic...

Atelier Primavera, Vase 1926-1929 Atelier Primavera, Glazed Ceramic Vase By French Design House, Primavera, Atelier d’Art du Printemps, or the French department Store “Le Printemps” Embossed stamp, 'PRIMAVERA' and numéroté '17890' Model created 1926-1929 Bibliography : Primavera 1912-1972, Atelier d'Art du Printemps, A-R. Hardy, Faton ed., similarly shaped work p. 424 Primavera 1912-1972: Atelier d’Art du Printemps Primavera, “Spring” in Italian, was the first French department store to set up a creative workshop at the beginning of the 20th century. The adventure began in 1912 with two Decorative Arts enthusiasts: Pierre Laguionie (1884-1978), director of “Printemps” Department Store and lawyer René Guilleré (1878-1931), founder of the Salon des Artistes Dé-corateurs. Their objective is to promote the craft of Art in the daily life of the French people on the motto of the beautiful and the useful. Decorative objects and furniture (furniture, ceramics, glassware, carpets, up-holstery, wallpapers, etc.) must be beautiful, modern, of high quality and at affordable prices. The studio acquired young decorative artists such as Marcel Guillemard (1886-1932) and Louis Sognot (1892-1969) for furniture, and for works of art and ceramics by Madeleine Sougez (1891-1945)active from 1920 to 1928, Claude Lévy (1895-1942) from 1919 to 1929, Paule Petitjean (1895-1989) de 1913 à 1929, Hélèné Gatelet de 1924 à 1930, Marcelle Thiénot...

Blue Neoclassical Ceramic Table Lamp, William Morris Acanthus Pleated Shade
Located in AMSTERDAM, NL
This vintage ceramic table lamp was handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam from a rare amphora-shaped vase by Flora Gouda, part of the Porcelina series produced between 1950 and 1970. We’ve paired the base with a bespoke hand-pleated lampshade in a reinterpreted William Morris Acanthus print, and finished it with a soft blue silk cord. The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way. The amphora form, with its fluted pedestal and graceful curves, reflects a neoclassical influence filtered through the clean, modernist lines of mid-century Dutch design. Finished in a pale, slate-toned matte glaze, the vase belongs to Flora’s Porcelina series—developed to meet shifting postwar tastes toward muted, architectural ceramics. Its powdery surface diffuses light gently, lending the lamp a quiet, sculptural quality. The lampshade’s pleated craftsmanship echoes the vase’s ribbed detailing, while the indigo and ivory palette of the William Morris textile subtly mirrors the vase’s color story. Together, the lamp and shade create a thoughtful dialogue between classical reference and 20th-century restraint. This Flora Gouda lamp...
