About the Item
The Carved and Gilded Mirror we offer is a fascinating example of late 19th-century Italian craftsmanship. Made of larch wood, its design carving lends a special elegance, highlighted by the leaf motifs and scrolls that decorate the corners and midsections of the frame. The 3 cm deep stop indicates that it was originally designed to a painting, but its transformation into a mirror makes it a very versatile piece of furniture being usable indifferently in both directions, vertically and horizontally.
The inside dimensions of the mirror are 65 x 51 cm. The combination of carving and pure gold gilding, typical of the period, makes this antique rectangular frame a very versatile collector's item, it can be perfectly set in either a contemporary style or an interior of antiques. It will be a nice value addition to your furniture or antique collection.
