About the Item
Imposing 19th century Italian carved floor mirror made on a grand monumental scale measuring over 6 feet tall. The mirror features a hand-beveled period thick glass plate mounted in a deep relief-carved gilt wood frame. The frame has elegant scroll work in gesso of large acanthus and laurel leaves in the baroque rococo taste. The aged gilt patina has a warm burnished finish to commensurate age and use. The frame is impressive with 3 inch thick gracefully curved details. From a historic mansion in San Francisco, California.
