About the Item
Finely ornamented, large Italian Neoclassic Style Italian Trumeau mirror. Patinated beige lacquer antiqued by age, combines with gold giltwood details to create a grande
impressive architectural statement. The Neoclassic Period was inspired by classical elements from the ancient architecture of Greece and Rome. The giltwood crowned cornice atop the fluted columns provides a perfectly balanced aesthetic, framing the mirror glass beautifully. Mythological themed ornamentation includes a pair of Griffons protecting the Roman subject at center. Gilded trim of acanthus and various foliate ornamentation adorn and accentuate the classic characteristics. Mercury mirror has good reflectivity, circa 1820.
Large scale at 5.5 feet tall and 4.75 feet wide.
