A fabulous early 19th Century William IV giltwood overmantel mirror of exceptional quality and grand proportions. The mirror glass plate of rectangular form is set within a finely hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame featuring an elegantly simple stylised egg and dart border, gorgeous ring turned and fluted pilaster columns with beautiful foliate, acanthus leaf, flowerhead and ruffle motifs and stunningly detailed arrangements of richly scrolling foliate to each top corner return, finely hand carved in high relief, supported on shaped platform base with ebonised detail.
