A French Giltwood Over Mantle Mirror, 18th Century
Description:
The large rectangular mirror surmounted by a central scrolling acanthus corona, descending to scrolling yoke flanked to either side by ho-ho birds, to central armorial heraldry motif depicting a dragoon helmet before a series of rising flagged lances surrounded by further various scrolling acanthus and carved motifs, the main gilded frame adorned with scrolling acanthus and floral motifs, to fluted inner frame bordered by roped moulding, encasing the original plate.
