Large 18th Century Italian Rope
Tassels Decoration Carved Giltwood Mirror
A large and excellently carved and 18th century giltwood mirror with a shaped arched plate within a moulded frame and with a mirrored border. The elaborate pierced cresting carved with a central vase of flowers, flanked by c-scrolls, foliate and distinguished ropes with tassels, on boldly scrolled feet.
The distinct pierced carving of high craftmanship and is typical for the Piemont region. The mirror frame is silvered with a tinted varnish applied to simulate gilding.

An Italian Baroque style mirror, the rectangular mirror plate set within a giltwood and facetted glass border and a further blue-glass and mirror glass border displaying arabesque ornaments painted in polychrome oil paint. The whole flanked by a scrolling foliate border and surmounted by a shaped giltwood, blue-glass and engraved panel cresting.
