About the Item
A lovely and unusual 19th Century well figured solid oak overmantel mirror of grand proportions, finely hand carved and of exceptional quality with beautifully rich patination and grain. The mirror glass plate of rectangular form is set within a fabulous moulded and fluted giltwood frame, surmounted with an inverted breakfront overhanging stepped cornice above a pair of fluted ring turned and panelled columns flanking the sides. Supported on shaped platform base with a further gorgeous pair of shaped panels to the sides featuring decorative carved foliate and flowerhead motif detail.
