A very large full-length mirror.
A mirror of this size is rare among Japanese antiques.
It is a wonderful piece with a design that evokes the Japanese atmosphere typical of the Taisho period and a light yet rich color that has aged with the lauan wood.
The mirror was originally used at a girls' high school and has been preserved in very good condition.
The mirror surface is original to that time, and the edges are chamfered.
Although Japan at the time lagged behind overseas technology in terms of machinery, the craftsmen used their hands to process it in a way that was comparable to those machines.
One example of this is the chamfering of the mirror surface. It is very beautifully finished.
In order to preserve this story, we left the mirror surface as it was.
It reflects beautifully, so it is perfect as a full-length mirror and can be used daily.
Our craftsmen carefully repaired it and brought it back to life as furniture to be passed on to the next generation.
