This elegant French Empire gilt wood vanity mirror dates to the mid-19th century and beautifully reflects the refined neoclassical taste of the period. Designed for use atop a dressing table or console, it features a deeply molded gilt frame with a classical scroll crest and carved foliate accents at the lower corners. The stepped plinth base retains an attractive aged painted surface, adding wonderful character and contrast to the warm gilding above.
