A striking late 19th century Chinoiserie black lacquer dressing mirror, this fine example is as much an art object as it is a functional piece. The frame is adorned with delicately hand-painted gilt figural scenes and architectural motifs across the crest, base, and sides—classic hallmarks of European fascination with East Asian design during the Victorian era. The mirror itself is framed in a beveled edge and pivots on turned supports topped with finials, adding dimension and sculptural presence.
