Gaetano Missaglia adjustable vanity mirror, Italy, 1970s – Brushed Aluminum, Clear Fumé Glass A striking example of Italian mid-century modern design, this adjustable vanity mirror by Gaetano Missaglia (Italy, 1970s) showcases the clean geometry, technical precision, and sculptural presence that defined the designer’s work. Crafted in brushed aluminum, the mirror features a beautifully machined semi-circular base with stepped detailing, supporting a floating circular mirror that pivots smoothly on two chromed spherical joints. One side of the mirror is clear, while the reverse offers a deep, elegant fumé (smoked) finish—perfect for varying lighting and aesthetic needs. The piece functions equally well as a vanity mirror, a desk or sideboard accent, or as a standalone sculptural object. Its refined industrial look pairs seamlessly with interiors in the styles of Gio Ponti, Artemide, Olivetti, and Studio BBPR. About the Designer – Gaetano Missaglia Gaetano Missaglia was an Italian designer and fabricator active during the mid-20th century, known for his masterful work in metal and his collaborations with Milanese design studios. Missaglia’s work from the 1960s and 1970s is sought after for its craftsmanship, balance, and sculptural quality—hallmarks of the Italian design renaissance of the period. The mirror will be shipped insured overseas in a custom made wooden crate. Cost of transport to the US crate included is Euro 275. Wear consistent with age and use.
