About the Item
An elegant and most decorative Italian early 19th century Baroque st. Giltwood mirror. This wonderful freestanding table top vanity mirror is raised by two double scrolled foliate supports decorated with acanthus leaves and charming finials. The legs are joined by a carved scrolled stretcher below the mirror supports displaying stunning acanthus leaf designs throughout. The oval mirror plate above is set within a richly detailed foliate frame, with an inner beaded band, and Rocaille designs to each side. The mirror pivots via its original hardware, concealed behind the foliate carvings. Above, and at the bottom center of the mirror, are stunning and large scale palmette carvings.
