About the Item
An early 19th century French Louis XVI style trumeau mirror with a large painting depicting Diana, the goddess of the hunt. Oil on canvas with vivid color, craquelure, with some paint loss, in-painting and a repaired patch. Parcel gilt pine frame in pale green with applied gilded decoration and carved crown with lovebirds. Minor losses and touch-ups. Crest has been repaired. Original mirror with nice silvered patina and some spotting. Circa 1800-1820
