About the Item

The pillar mirror, also called trumeau is from the German Biedermeier period. The frame is made of mahogany and root wood veneer. On the frame above the mirror is a mythological scene. Besides, brass applications in the form of small rosettes decorate the frame of the mirror. The mirror glass was probably added later. There is a seal on the back. Unfortunately, a brass rosette is missing and also the mahogany veneer is cracked in some places ( see photos ). Nevertheless, the mirror is a very very nice piece, which makes despite small blemishes really what.
