About the Item

A stunning and most decorative Italian 18th century Milanese st. Trumeau mirror. This beautifully colored Trumeau is supported on a long rectangular patinated base with plinths on each end. Above each plinth is a highly decorated panel of intricate designs of winged classical figures below patinated wood palmettes and urns. Each column is edged with a Coeur-de-Rai band and displays a pink patinated background. The turquoise patinated background of the center panel is centered around a rectangular mirror plate with a curved top. The mirror is decorated by an inner beaded band and a lily pad patterned band around the outer edge. Above the upper edge of the mirror are colorful floral decorations with a lion's head central reserve. The upper edge of the bottom section showcases a thick band of berried floral decorations with a pink patinated background similar to the two columns on either side. The upper section is tastefully decorated with swaging berried floral garlands, two white birds, and central reserve of a finely detailed urn with a foliate spray emerging from the top. Along the top edge is a band of rose colored beads below the mottled top rim finished with a palmette band. Original patina and mirror plate throughout.
