About the Item
An Italian carved wood wall mirror, with its original gilt finish, from the early 20th century. This antique mirror from Italy is rectangular-shaped, and in typical trumeau fashion, features an upper framed area which is adorn with carved horns in and bow at center, giving this piece a delightful musical theme. The mirror is topped with a nicely molded crest rail, and a pair of flower heads accent each upper and lower corner. Egg-n-dart trim embellished carvings are found along the edging of the frame, while petite bead trim outlines the upper panel as well as the mirror's inner surround. The wood frame is complimented by the original gilt finish which is found on all of the trim pieces and carvings. This early 20th century Italian mirror stands approximately 4.25 feet in height, and is a high-quality piece with very nice lines!
