About the Item
A large late 18th Century Italian painted and gilt trumeau mirror.
The panel above the mirror with re-entrant corners and having gilt rosettes to each corner. The gilt urn to the centre of the panel having Greek key pattern handles with a swag of foliage of leaves and flowers trailing down either side of the urn with a further swag in front of the pedestal. The reeded gilt mirror frame with rosettes to each corner and having short bands of foliage at intermittent spaces along all of the frame with urn and floral cresting. Flanked by trailing foliage, all four corners of the frame with a prominent scrolling band of leaves and husks. The bottom rail of the frame centred by a small group of leaves
flowers.
