About the Item
A stunning and large scale Northern Italian 18th century Louis XVI Period patinated Wood and Giltwood mirror. This most elegant mirror is supported on a wonderfully detailed faux painted green marble plinth below the original mirror plate set within an inner beaded and Rais de Coeur trim. The mirror plate is flanked by vertical recessed panels to each side adorned with Giltwood rope and foliate garlands. The Trumeau top showcases a recessed patinated green panel accented with swaging Giltwood garlands suspended from rosettes. The panel is flanked by fluted Giltwood blocks fitted with chandelles, which support the impressive egg and dart designed top crown in a stunning satin and burnished finish.
