About the Item
Empire period overmantel mirror, in wood and stucco gilded with gold leaf. This mirror is framed by two antique style pilasters in wood and stucco, gilded with gold leaf. A rectangular pediment enhances the whole and hosts a mythological scene in relief, a frieze of foliage and flower buds, all worked in gold leaf. A frieze of palmettes decorates the lower part of this large wall mirror.
