About the Item
A French Empire mirror with a rectangular wooden frame retaining an original painted surface and applied decorative relief motifs at the corners and along the rails. The ornament appears to be composition or pressed ornament applied to the wood rather than carved. The surface shows expected wear, paint loss, and softening consistent with age and use, and the mirror plate shows spotting and surface irregularities typical of period glass.
