A rare 19th-century French ecclesiastical wall mirror in the form of a radiant cross, handcrafted from gilded and patinated copper and brass. The circular mirror is framed by sculpted scrolls and golden rays, combining Baroque elegance with devotional symbolism.
This exceptional French wall mirror dates to the 19th century and was most likely part of a chapel or church interior.
Handcrafted from copper and brass with a finely aged patina, it takes the form of a cross radiating from a small round mirror at the center. The surface is richly decorated with scrollwork and stylized leaves, surrounded by gilded rays symbolizing divine light.
The contrast between the warm gilding and the dark patina gives the piece a sacred and sculptural presence. Once used as a devotional object, it now stands out as a refined piece of decorative art, bridging ecclesiastical tradition and timeless French craftsmanship.
