About the Item
Crafted in the Burgundy region of France circa 1860, the large antique gilt mirror has traditional lines with rounded corners; the rectangular thick frame is decorated with a discrete engraved flower motifs throughout and embellished with bead decor around the frame. The elegant wall piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, dressed with original mercury glass and wood backing, and adorns a rich and luxurious patinated gold leaf finish with some red bole underneath. New hooks and wire in the back for easy handling and installation. Versatile and with great proportions and size, the Louis Philippe mirror could be placed in a powder room, bedroom or entryway.
