About the Item
Large gilded wood mirror hand-made in central Italy in the late 1800s following the French Louis Philippe style. The mirror is quite large, making a perfect both as a floor as well as wall mirror. The frame is made of hand-carved pine that was covered with gold leaf, as seen in the picture some of the gold has rubbed off over time and the red bolo under it is visible, giving the mirror a beautiful patina and deep coloration. The mirror itself is most likely the original one, as one can see some pitted spots on the edge, but nothing that hinders reflectance. The frame of the mirror is decorated with beading on the inside and a wavy pattern on the outside edge. The back is still original and made of chamfered pine panels held in place with nails.
Overall this is a beautiful, large mirror that can be placed in many different spots in a home and will provide decoration and luminosity anywhere it is placed.
