About the Item
This beautiful and tall antique French mirror is completely gold leaf gilt and is made in Louis Philippe style with it's typical rounded upper corners. The mirror frame has a classic pearl beading surrounding the glass. The most elevated part of the frame has an engraved décor with polished gold leaf. The rest is gold leaf gilt and patinated as well, nut polished to a lower degree. This makes the frame has different shades of gold and therefore more definition. The mirror plate is original to the mirror and it is silver nitrate silvered with a few small spots evenly distributed along the mirror plate. The back cladding is authentic except for two board that were replaced. The mirror plate and back cladding have been removed to clean the frame and mirror both inside as outside. The whole mirror is now in good condition and ready for use.
