ANTIQUE FRENCH MIRROR
A rectangular mirror with a highly decorative gilt gesso frame with beautiful foliate details.
Original mercury mirror plate with a small amount of foxing.
Probably dating from the mid-19th century period.
The frame is somewhat distressed, which we think adds a romantic charm to the piece, so we have left it in as-found condition. This overall look is the reason we fell for the piece in the first place, but we have priced it accordingly. The original mirror plate is foxed in places; again, we think this adds to its charm.
