The giltwood frame of this French mirror is delicately embellished with foliate vines that are interrupted in the corners by much larger carved leaves. Dating to circa 1850, the mirror is from the period of Napoleon III, sometimes referred to as The Second Empire.

- Condition:Repaired: The giltwood frame has been restored by a professional art restorer. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Good antique condition. Commensurate loss of silver to glass, which is desirable, as is red bole appearance due to gilt losses. Minor age separations and light nicks to frame, which has been professionally touched up. Wired for hanging purposes.
