About the Item
An absolutely unique extremely rare find, this Baroque early 17th century mirror is a museums piece and a real treasure for a true history lover. Exquisitely hand crafted and hand painted under the glass, this mirror is a piece of art which was magically found in the basement of a Venetian Palazzo.
The glass itlsef did not survive the centuries but the wooden structure and glass panels in each corner and on the top are in a good condition considering the age and use.
On the second picture one can see the missing piece of glass (which was added on the other pictures) , we left it on purporse to show you what was underneath - more than 300 yeras old small piece of hand written letter. The mystery remains unsolved -who was the writer and to whom the letter was addressed. The only certain thing is that this Mirror is a fabulous example of mastery and craftsmanship of italian masters in 17th century.
