About the Item
Antique faux bamboo mirror with original backing and wooden back, entirely in Chinoiserie style. This style was very popular during the Art Nouveau period, originating from France. This example dates from around the end of the 19th century.
This beautiful wooden frame is carved and crafted to resemble real bamboo, hence the name faux bamboo. This piece has a lovely weathered patina of age. The mirror glass is weathered and heavily stained, a characteristic highly sought after by collectors and often seen in very old mirrors.
In good antique condition. This piece has signs of age and use commensurate with its age. Please see the photos for more details!
