Ceramic Hand Mirror by Boris Kassianoff circa 1960 Mid-Century French Ceramic Very nice hand mirror in glazed earthenware. The bright white enamel contrasts with the black earthenware that highlights the engraved patterns. The leaves that are engraved around the mirror are stylized charm leaves. A charming wink for a hand mirror. The black clay, the milky white enamel, the blue of the handle and the engraving of the motifs are all characteristic elements of Boris Kassianoff's work. Circa 1960 In good condition, you can notice one very small chip. Please be sure to look at the pictures, they complete the description. ----------- Boris Kassianoff 1932 - 2006 is known for his raw clay work embellished with shiny glazes in delicate shades, all in transparency, like glacis. These artworks are recognisable by their massive style and typical decoration, as Kassianoff did not sign his pieces. Among his disciples are renowned ceramists such as Albert Thiry.
