This stunning mid-19th century European giltwood mirror with its excellent gilded surface showcases exceptional hand-carved craftsmanship and elegant classical ornament. The deeply molded rectangular frame is adorned with finely carved foliate motifs at the corners and surmounted by an exuberant crest featuring scrolling acanthus floral garlands, and a central cartouche -- hallmarks of the Louis Revival and Rococo influence popular across France, Italy and Central Europe during this period. This mirror is a statement piece, perfect for anchoring a grand entryway, living room, powder room, or bedroom.
