A beautiful and ornate Florentine mirror, dating to the late 1700s, features a beveled glass surrounded by a hand-carved giltwood frame. The elaborate frame has motifs of S-scrolls, crenellation, foliate scrolls, fluting, and a pierced acanthus margent. However, the focal point is the expansive crown, which consists of a scrolled console with lozenge ground flanked by large foliate rinceaux and topped by a curled leaf.

- Condition:Repaired: Evidence of old touchups and fills to the giltwood frame. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Good antique condition. Minor age separations. Light loss of silvering to glass, with presence of red bole to the frame, both of which are desired traits. Traces of old fills and touchups to gilding. Light nicks and losses to frame.
