About the Item
A large French painted wood mirror, with mirrored panel surround, from the 19th century. This antique wall mirror from France, standing just shy of 6 feet in height, features a cleanly-designed and rectangular-shaped frame, with mirrored panels (all various sized and rectangular in shape) at center, within the same clean molded lines. There are 6 carved wood rosette accents set within squared medallions, with pairs flanking the top shoulders, upper third, and bottom corners of the mirror. The finish is comprised of many layers of old paint, but has an overall off white finish with some gilt edges showing along the outline of the glass in some areas. There is a wonderful aged patina throughout. This 19th century French mirror, with the lighter paint and glass panels giving the frame an almost lattice style effect, will provide your room with a bright and airy feeling!
