About the Item
Beautiful large Empire gold gilt and ivory mirror which is an elegant statement piece. The giltwood finish is complemented by a lovely early painted white washed gesso patina, and the neoclassical embossed motif is a classic French form. A lovely rectangular shape, the surfaces all decorated with gilt-gesso decorations consisting of friezes of foliate scrolls, neoclassical rosettes, and egg and dart moldings, with original mirror. Bought in the South of France. #7431
