About the Item

A handsome French faux bamboo mirror from the early 20th century, crafted in solid walnut with distinctive turned elements that emulate the segmented nodes of real bamboo. The warm, honey-toned wood brings softness to the strong linear form, with corner joints capped by angled finials that give the frame subtle flair and personality. The frame is clean and well-proportioned, with a balanced rhythm between verticals and horizontals that reads equally well in traditional or more eclectic interiors. The mirror plate appears to be original and shows attractive foxing and surface oxidation across the lower half—a desirable sign of age for collectors and decorators seeking authenticity. The effect is especially striking in contrast to the sleek sheen of the walnut frame. This piece would work beautifully as a bathroom mirror, a hallway focal point, or above a sideboard or console. Its tailored lines, architectural shape, and understated detailing give it quiet confidence and enduring charm. Wired and ready to hang.
