About the Item
This French carved Louis XVI period late 18th century giltwood mirror features an exquisite pierced and carved crest made of various motifs such as a lute, acorn, arrows, flowers, a laurel wreath and volutes symbolizing the Liberal Arts. The rectangular carved frame with palmette motifs and beading surrounds the central antique glass, possibly original to the mirror. This French Louis XVI style mirror from the 1780s-1790s has a nice size and would be a wonderful addition to any wall, perhaps above a chest of drawers, bringing aura of French elegance.
