About the Item

George II Giltwood Mirror. Mirror features beveled edges and is mounted in a gilt frame. Carved with scrolling acanthus leaves. Mirror has a geometric-carved border, surmounted by an acanthus-carved broken arch pediment centered by a foliate cartouche with scalloped shell decoration. The apron is decorated with further scrolling. The gilt finish has a nice mellow patina.
