A striking late 19th century large George II style wall mirror, the hand carved walnut frame set with scrolling decorative elements and adorned with detailed, yet delicate carvings, the original plate and backboards still present. This beautifully proportioned and decorative mirror pays homage to those that were greatly prized during the reign of George II (1727 - 1760). Marked to the rear London 1741. Patina and wear commensurate to age, there is an historic repair to the rear of the crest, not really noticeable from the front. Height 114 cm x Width 63 cm x Depth 7cm.
