About the Item

A stunning and extremely decorative Italian 18th century Venetian st. patinated and giltwood etched mirror. The mirror is set within its striking original frame with beautiful finely detailed hand painted branches and foliate designs with charming colorful blooming flowers set on a wonderful patinated background with a fine wrap around giltwood band. The exceptional original etched mirror plate depicts a soldier with a woman in his arms possibly depicting the Abduction of the Sabine Women. All original gilt and patina throughout.
