About the Item

A sweet and sophisticated late 19th century American pyrography framed mirror with a hand-carved holly and berries pattern and a finely carved pattern behind the foliage. Pyrography is a 17th century technique that uses a heated poker to free-hand draw and burn patterns into wood. Holly leaves have long been symbols of protection from evil, peace, and goodwill.
