About the Item
L’Origine du Monde Powder Pink Edition Mirror is a sculptural design piece inspired by Gustave Courbet’s provocative 1866 painting. Through layered organic forms, reflection, and flowing light, the mirror reinterprets Baroque architectural composition for a contemporary context. Five overlapping frames generate a surface that shifts with movement, translating rhythm and structure into visual form.
Rooted in Baroque aesthetics, the work combines curved lines, dramatic contrasts of light and shadow, and a refined materiality. Its luminous Powder Pink hue offers a softer, more delicate interpretation of the design—subtle, elegant, and quietly modern. The iridescent color effect is achieved through a sophisticated deposition technique adapted from the semiconductor industry, which coats the plexiglass with pigment while preserving transparency and brilliance.
This edition is crafted in a medium size—approximately 75% of the Large version—making it versatile for more intimate interiors while retaining its sculptural presence. Each mirror is individually cut and meticulously hand-assembled, underscoring its collectible quality and artisanal craftsmanship.
Conceived in collaboration with Italian architect and designer Roberto Semprini, the piece bridges historical inspiration with contemporary innovation. The Powder Pink L’Origine du Monde Mirror embodies both the architectural layering of its source and the timeless elegance of sculptural design.

Made-to-Order Notice
All pieces by VIATOV are fully handcrafted, using plexiglass that is individually cut, colored, and assembled by hand. As each item is custom-made, we do not keep stock. Production begins once an order is placed, so cancellations or returns are not accepted after production starts.
You may cancel your order within 48 hours of placing it if you change your mind.
If an item arrives damaged, we are happy to arrange an exchange.
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, made-to-order items fall under the exception for customized goods, so the standard 14-day withdrawal right does not apply. Only defective or damaged goods are eligible for return or refund.
