About the Item
Inspired by Caravaggio’s Head of Medusa (1597) and Greek mythology, this Neo Baroque sculptural wall mirror reimagines the serpent-haired figure as a contemporary work of collectible design. Three intertwined plexiglass panels, representing Medusa’s serpents, are coated using a high-precision specialized deposition technique—borrowed from the semiconductor industry—to achieve a mirror-like finish, while a central round mirror forms the symbolic “face” of Medusa.
Rather than turning viewers to stone, this modern interpretation reverses the myth’s power dynamic. Medusa becomes a figure of fascination rather than fear, challenging ideas of identity, perception, and transformation.
Created in collaboration with Italian architect and designer Roberto Semprini, the piece merges art and design, myth and modernity. Exhibited at the Baroque
Neo Baroque Design Festival in Sicily, Italy, it embodies theatrical elegance while highlighting the dialogue between historical symbolism and contemporary craftsmanship.

Made-to-Order Notice
All pieces by VIATOV are fully handcrafted, using plexiglass that is individually cut, colored, and assembled by hand. As each item is custom-made, we do not keep stock. Production begins once an order is placed, so cancellations or returns are not accepted after production starts.
You may cancel your order within 48 hours of placing it if you change your mind.
If an item arrives damaged, we are happy to arrange an exchange.
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, made-to-order items fall under the exception for customized goods, so the standard 14-day withdrawal right does not apply. Only defective or damaged goods are eligible for return or refund.
