About the Item
The Oval Mirror pushes the strict geometry that occurs as a result of stitching the dowels together to create a dynamic edge. Each layer of the Mooda rises and falls inversely to the other as they travel along the circumference of the mirror, giving the illusion of constant motion.
Available in two American hardwoods, three standard sizes and a range of finishes, they are perfect for powder rooms, hallways or above a mantle.
The Mooda Collection reimagines a traditional furniture building technique used for centuries across India into contemporary objects. Sticks of cane, bamboo or grass are stitched together with rope to create structural forms used as stools, chairs or tables. Every region has its own distinct style and variation of technique based on the materials available, making these stools both ubiquitous and individual in their origin.
Learning this technique that has been passed down through generations, the Mooda Collection explores ways in which this process and the resulting form can be used beyond seating to develop contemporary objects.

INDO-
INDO- is an award winning interdisciplinary design studio based in Providence, RI. Founded in 2018 by Urvi Sharma and Manan Narang - both grew up in New Delhi and met at the Rhode Island School of Design - INDO- is a product of experiencing both places and cultures. Using a layered design process, incorporating personal narrative, traditional craft and modern ways of making into the work, INDO- creates products that connect with their audience in an increasingly diasporic world while embodying unique identities with the stories they tell.
