This rectangular French Napoleon III period mirror, circa 1860, exemplifies Second Empire elegance and opulence with its carved and gilded wooden frame lavishly adorned with intricate Rococo-inspired floral and scroll motifs.
The hand-carved details of cascading Flowers, acanthus leaves, and sinuous C-scrolls reflect the mirror’s Rococo influence, showcasing exquisite 19th century craftsmanship. All these ornate elements are highlighted by an original gilded finish that has gracefully aged to a warm, mellow patina.
