About the Item

A wonderful and palatially scaled pair of Italian 18th century Louis XVI st. patinated off white and Giltwood mirrors. Each beautiful mirror displays its original patinated mirror plates and is supported on a mottled Giltwood base. Each of the bottom corners displays finely carved rosettes which flank the central reserve bouquets of flowers with wandering vines emerging from each side. Extending up each side above the rosettes are intertwining floral vines at the bottom and a hanging foliate reserve that flanks the star carvings in the center. The top section of each mirror showcases a finely detailed pierced crest design with a crown above. Extending from each side are scrolling floral vines. The top matches the base with its flat Giltwood mottled design.
