About the Item
A likely early 20th-century Arts and Crafts mahogany toned wall mirror featuring fine hand painted decoration and geometric marquetry accents. The rectangular frame has softened, rounded corners and is embellished with stylized floral details along the vertical sides, paired with diamond-shaped geometric details along the top rail.
The mirror retains its original glass, showing expected age marks and light spotting consistent with age. The mahogany toned frame displays warm patina and visible surface wear, including scratches, separations at some joints, and finish losses, all of which add character to the antique presentation. Small black wooden bun feet are mounted along the base, suggesting it may have originally been designed for use atop a dresser as well as for wall mounting.
The back panel appears original, secured with period nails, and fitted with hanging hardware for wall display.
This piece exemplifies the decorative craftsmanship of the Arts and Crafts movement, combining natural wood finishes with stylized ornamentation. A versatile size for use as an overmantel, hall, or dresser mirror.
